2. Data We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, level/class
- Profile details: educational level, preferred subjects
- Payment information: mobile money phone number (passed to Fapshi for processing)
- User-generated content: flashcard decks, messages sent in Study Hubs, profile updates
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: features accessed, quizzes taken, papers viewed, time spent in-app
- Performance data: quiz scores, subject performance metrics, study session lengths
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers
- Log data: error logs, crash reports, timestamps of actions
Information from third parties
- Social login: if you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive your name and email address
- Payment processor (Fapshi): we receive transaction status confirmations (success/failure, reference numbers)

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our services, personalize your learning experience, and ensure security.

4. AI Features and Data
When you use the Ask AI feature or AI flashcard generation, your input is sent to our third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. We do not use your inputs to train AI models without your explicit consent. AI feature inputs may be retained for up to 30 days for safety filtering and abuse detection.
5. Study Hub Messages
Messages sent in Study Hubs are visible to all members of that hub. Hub messages may be stored for up to 90 days for operational purposes and are subject to automatic cleanup.
⚠️ Do not share personal information (phone numbers, home addresses, financial details) in hub messages.

We implement measures such as encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), JWT-based authentication, Redis-based session management, and restricted access controls. No system is completely secure, and we will notify you of any data breaches as required by law.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict certain processing, or receive a copy of your data (portability). You may also withdraw consent for communications at any time.
10. Children's Privacy
Lewah is intended for students, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate consent where required by law. If you are under the age of majority, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email before the changes take effect.
